In the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue by Stampin' Up!©, there are a number of adorable "Sea" inspired stamp sets (Lilly Pad Lake, Fabulous Flamingo and High Tide are just a few), so it is no wonder that the Global Design Project challenge this week is "Take me to the Sea".
We are landlocked here in Alberta, Canada; so my collection of "Sea" inspired stamp sets is, well, slim to none! The closest stamp set that I have is Animal Outing. Kangaroo's live near the sea, right?

EMBOSSED LEAVESThe embossed leaves on the Whisper White background are created with the leaf die from the Animal Friends Thinlits and the new Embossing Plates. This means that the die that would originally be intended for cutting, now becomes an embossing die! Watch this quick video from Stampin' Up!©:
I used Stampin' Blends to color my kangaroo and was really happy with how he turned out. The last thing that I colored was the koala's nose, but I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, rather than the Blends. Doing so, left his nose a stark, black color; in contrast to the light color of kangaroo. I tried to "lighten" the nose by adding Clear Wink of Stella (glitter pen). I am still not 100% happy with it. But I was not wanting to start over again, so I decided to leave it as is. Oh, well!
