Stampin' Up! issued a challenge to us for the projects this week ... use the square pillow box in a creative and fun way! Do you like to look at stamps, dies or punches and find a cleaver way to use them, other than the way there were intended??
I have taken the pillow box and turned it into a pocket note!
DIY Pocket Note
To create the pocket you will need to use your Big Shot and cut out three Pillow Box pieces. I did two in Designer Series Paper and one in Cardstock. The cardstock was to line the back of the pocket ... it covered the back of the Designer Series Paper (that did not match the color scheme I was going for), and to make it more rigid.
Use Fast Fuse Adhesive or Snail Adhesive and stick the cardstock piece to a DSP piece. This will be the pocket back.
Next, use your paper trimmer and trim off the bottom edge of all three pieces to remove the curved edge.
Use the paper trimmer and trim the front pocket DSP straight along the top. I started trimming it at the outside corner where the curve meets the straight edge. You can see in the images that you can still see the scored moon shape on the front, but I was okay with that. Use your 3/4" circle punch to create the finger pull.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive along the bottom edge and the side flaps to assemble the pocket.
This little feather came from my local dollar store. I love the unconventional look of the colors and the feather together for this fall card! The acorn is stamped in Soft Sky & Crumb Cake.
I was so inspired by this layout that I create two more cards to share with you!
This stamp set is the Acorny Thank-you Stamp Set. Are you loving all the acorns that in "In" this year!? Me too! This acron is stamped in Soft Sky & Sahara Sand. The card base is also Sahara Sand that the Designer Series Paper is Farmers Market.
I am sooo in love with the suite of black and gold Christmas products this year! The paper is Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper. Flip to page 23 of your Holiday Catalogue ... you will seriously die over these products!
Now I know you are loving acorns ... are you sold on the Square Pillow Box Framelit yet? Well you will be! Click over to Mercedes Weber and see what she created!
Thank-you for visiting! Have a creative day!
I would love to hear from you!
