Take a peek at these three cards I created recently ... using one of my favorite colors - Black!!!!
My daughter's 8th Birthday Card. |
I created this card because I loved the stamp set. Saving it for a congratulatory occasion. |
You can never have enough Birthday Cards. This card was born using the scrap from the Chevron Punch in the card above. |

1. What are you working on?
Christmas, Christmas and more Christmas. This is my busy season so I am preparing for all of my seasonal classes. This weekend is my a day long winter stamp class that I call my Dolce Winter Retreat. I have some treats that I am stamping for my guests. This week I am also working on designing my annual Christmas classes ... a card buffet, a gift tag class, a Christmas ornament class and a Mommy & Me class. Who am I kidding ... that is a lot for one week!
2. How does your work differ from others in your genre?
I call my style Stampin' diarrhea. Can I say that? The idea that more is ... well, better! I love layers & embellishments. There is an art to it though. I have the design eye for placement and organization of all that diarrhea.
3. Why do you create what you do?
I create for a few reasons -
a. I have a class, club or event that I need something for! (the life of a career demonstrator I guess!).
b. I have an Artisan Design Team project due!
c. I have a new product that I am dying to use!
4. How does your creative process work?
Over the years that has evolved. I was always the stamper who turned to their Stampin' Up! catalogues and magazine subscriptions. Now I have done away with magazines and Pinterest has taken over (hasn't everyone?). I am actively on Pinterest (in an unhealthy way, I am sure!) looking for ideas and inspiration.
When I was chosen for the 2014-2015 Artisan Design Team this year my creative process changed a little bit. I want my designs to be my own and so I start with a blank slate. I will have a product, technique or stamp set in mind that I know I want to use and I take it from there. The process is quick for me ... I am very decisive about what I like and do not like. I think it is all that time on Pinterest before bed. I have all of these ideas swimming in my head and bits and pieces of them all come together.
Wasn't that fun!? Now I have to send you to two blogs! My nominations are:
Lynsay Mahon -
She is my friend, mentor and the whole reason I am a demonstrator today! She is one amazing lady! You are going to love what she has coming up for you. Her blog hop post will be up on November 10, 2014 ... check back for the link!
Alicia Hobbs -
I worked with Alicia in Architecture once upon a time and we became friends and Stampin' sisters! She is an energetic and crafty Momma! She recently welcomed a baby girl and I thought this challenge would be the perfect thing to welcome her back to blogging! Check our her creations on November 10, 2014 ... check back and I will have the link!
Thank-you for reading! Have a creative day!
