The sun is shinning, spring is here and this weekend is Mother's Day!! I have three little ones and just love Mother's Day. I love how excited the kids get. I love the hand made cards and gifts. I love a day of being spoiled and waited on (yes I suck it for all that it is worth!!!).
My April stamp clubs created Mother's Day scrapbook layouts. These pages are quick and beautiful. The clean simple layout was a hit with my stampers.
Our technique focus this month was coloring or dying embellishments. We colored the following with .... drum roll, please .... a Sharpie!!
* Pearl Basic Jewels (119247) $6.50
* Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels (129324) $6.50
* Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons (127555) $7.95
Sharpies are sold almost everywhere and in a rainbow of colors. We used pink to add a spring touch to these layouts.
We also colored 3/8" Flower Trim (126869) $9.50. These are the yellow tulle flowers that you see. They come in a vanilla color and on a strip. They work out to about to $0.10 each! An amazing value!! You can color your Flower Trim a few ways:
* Press the flowers into your Classic Stampin' Pads
* Use a Sponge Dauber (102892) $4.50/12 to ink your flower
* Mix 70% rubbing alcohol and reinker in a Stampin' Spritzer (126185) $3.95 and spray the flower
Stampin' Up! has a number of embellishments that are white, vanilla or a neutral color. Just imagine the possibilities dying your embellishments! What is your favourite embellishment to dye? I would love to hear from you!
Have a creative day!
